This course should produce a basic extension office, agribusiness entrepreneur capable of starting a micro-enterprise and/or becoming a practical agribusiness advisor with primary production and basic value-addition expertise.

Candidates for this course should have attained certificate of secondary school education with at least four passes out of which two passes must be of science subject (Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geography and agriculture). Also, candidates who have attained entry level three in Agriculture and Livestock training from recognized Vocational Training Centre (VETA).
